Vijayamma seeks support of people for Jagan’s yatra

Kadapa: Urging people to give a chance to YSRCP in the next Assembly elections, party honorary president Y S Vijayamma on Sunday criticised the state government for failing to implement the various welfare schemes which were introduced during the YS Rajasekhar Reddy rule.

Addressing a press conference on the eve of launch of Praja Sankalpa Yatra by her son and party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy from Monday, Vijayamma recalled that after Rajasekhar Reddy passed away, successive governments had not implemented his welfare scheme in the last eight years.

“Arogyasri scheme was completed ignored and schemes like fee reimbursement, pensions, free electricity, 108, 104, Pavala Vaddi,completion of irrigation projects, Rs 1-a-kg rice scheme etc., have been diluted during the TDP rule putting people to hardship,” she said.

Stressing the importance of her son’s padayatra, she recalled that her husband Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy had identified several problems facing the people during his padayatra.

“My son Jaganmohan Reddy is also conducting the Praja Sankalpa Yatra with the same sprit like his father” she said. While accusing the state government of “plotting” to create hurdles to Jagan’s yatra, she appealed to the people to bless her son by extending their support considering him as their son, brother or grandson.
