YSR Congress Party MLAs on Thursday met the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Shiva Prasada Rao at his chamber in the Legislative Assembly.

A representation was submitted to the Speaker to initiate action against the 21 defected leaders from YSRCP who are continuing in Telugu Desam Party. Also, four of those party MLAs hold Ministry posts as well.

Addressing the media after the meeting, the party MLAs informed that they hoped that the Speaker will take immediate action as the Court directed the issue to be under the limit of Speaker's discretion.

In regard to the YSRCP MLAs deciding to boycott the Assembly Winter session, scheduled to begin tomorrow, party leader Srikanth Reddy stated that they are not boycotting the sessions but were upset with contradicting statements of speaker.

He revealed that the Speaker denied to take action on the defected leaders citing that the case is pending in court but when it was regarding YSRCP MLA Roja’s one-year suspension case, he didn’t follow the same.

Srikanth Reddy said that the party leaders will attend the Assembly if the Speaker respects Constitution and reminded that it is the Speaker’s responsibility to maintain the respect of opposition party.
