Dr Gurrala Raj Vimal, president of the district Youth Congress, said that the financial condition of the country is not yet stabilised due to demonetisation of the big notes. He said that about 150 common people and bank employees died in the queue lines in banks and at the counters unable to take the stress of demonetisation. He demanded that the government announce Rs 10 lakh ex gratia to the kin of those people who died in queues waiting for the withdrawal and deposit of money.

Youth Congress leaders, including SC Cell president Korivi Vinay Kumar, district Congress president Eda Sudhakar Reddy, Ongole town president Sripathi Prakasam and others also participated in the rally up to the main branch of SBI and paid tributes to the people died in bank queue lines.
The CPI and CPM leaders took out a rally from Sundaraiah Bhavan to the Collectorate and staged a protest in front of it.

CPM district secretary Punati Anjaneyulu said that Narendra Modi had conducted a surgical strike on the people. With the demonetisation, the GDP dropped by 5.1 per cent, production dropped, jobs lost and money circulation is reduced, he flayed. He said that the government is failed in controlling the black money but provided profits to the corporate sector.
