34 red sanders logs worth 1 cr seized

In separate incidents during the combing operations, Kadapa police have seized 34 red sanders logs worth about Rs 1 crore in Sambepalle ,Rayachoti, Lakki Reddy Palle mandals in the wee hours of Friday. In this connection, 25 woodcutters belonging to Tamil Nadu were arrested.
Kadapa: In separate incidents during the combing operations, Kadapa police have seized 34 red sanders logs worth about Rs 1 crore in Sambepalle ,Rayachoti, Lakki Reddy Palle mandals in the wee hours of Friday. In this connection, 25 woodcutters belonging to Tamil Nadu were arrested.
According to sources, following a tip off, police performed combing operations in the Seshachalam forest areas of Sambepalle, Lakki Reddy Palle and Rayachoti mandals. Police arrested the woodcutters belonging to Tamil Nadu while they were axing the trees. Police said another 30 woodcutters managed to escape into darkness.
