Rajamahendravaram: BC Sankshema Sangham (BCSS) state president Kesana Shankar Rao said that Dr BR Ambedkar never said that Kapu community could be treated as BCs, as said by Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he asked Mudragada Padmanabham to prove his statement or withdraw his comment. “It is nothing but to misguide BCs in the state. How can the state government add Kapus and other castes into BC category, without increasing its 27 per cent reservations,” he questioned?

The state government is misguiding Kapus with false promises and including Kapus into BC list is not in the hands of the state government, he said and declared that BCs were ready for any sacrifices to protect BC community.

He said BCs had already advised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu not to accord BC status to Kapu community which cannot be tolerated, and added that SC classification itself was not completed so far and political leaders were hoodwinking BCs, SCs and Kapus to get political mileage.

BC Joint Action Committee chairman Margani Nageswara Rao said BC Garjana will be held in Visakhapatnam shortly. Stating that inclusion of Kapu community into BCs is not possible and asked Kapu Corporation chairman Ramanujaya to put an end to his false statements in this regard.
He said BCs would prove their mettle in the Assembly elections if the government tries to do harm their interests, he warned.
