Vijayawada: The state government will be filling vacant assistant professor posts in 13 universities in the state through online test to be conducted by the APPSC in the new year. Similarly, the school education department began an exercise to fill the vacant school teachers posts.

School education department commissioner Sandhyarani directed the district educational officers to send the list of vacant teacher posts. The DEOs are preparing the list in the schools under their jurisdiction.

After getting the details of the vacancies, they will be submitted to the principal secretary for taking further action to conduct the DSC. Minister for human resource development Ganta Srinivasa Rao earlier

announced that vacancies would be filled through DSC examination. According to sources in the school education department, it has been identified that over 10,000 teacher posts are vacant. These vacancies are expected to increase further.

The finance department has to give its nod to fill the vacancies. After getting the nod from the government, the school education department will take steps to conduct DSC examination.

The government is expected to conduct online test for filling the assistant professor posts in the universities in the new year, DSC in the next academic year. As per the earlier proposals, the DSC examination was to be conducted this year.

Vice–chairman of AP Council for Higher Education Prof P Narasimha Rao said, “The government has given all necessary permissions to fill the vacant assistant, associate and professor posts in all the 13 universities in the state. We are conducting a massive recruitment drive to improve educational standards in the state. “

School education commissioner Sandhyarani said the process of collecting details of teacher post vacancies was underway. “We have to get details from some more districts. It will take some time. After that, we will send the details to the government,” she added.
