GITAM University announces GAT–2018

Visakhapatnam: GITAM University, one of the India’s premier universities, announced its GITAM Admission Test (GAT -2018) schedule for the coming academic year. GAT- 2018 online test will be conducted for Under Graduate Technology (UGT), Post Graduate Technology (PGT) and Post Graduate Pharmacy (PGP) programs at the 48 test centres spread in 48 cities across the country.

In a first-of-its-kind in Andhra Pradesh, the varsity’s School of Architecture launched M. Arch in Sustainable Architecture as well as introduced ‘Cyber Forensics & Information Security’, an M.Tech program, at Visakhapatnam campus.

Speaking to the media, GITAM University Vice-Chancellor MS Prasada Rao said along with inter-disciplinary education, the varsity has been instrumental in giving exposure to students on Gandian thought. GITAM VC MS Prasada Rao, along with other professors, released GITAS University admissions – 2018 brochure at GITAM Distance Education office in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

Known for its inter-disciplinary approach, GITAM University is offering 144 Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate and Doctoral programmes in Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy, Science, Medicine, Nursing, Management, International Business, Gandhian Studies, Law and Humanities disciplines.

Dedicated to impart world-class education, the GITAM University, with its campuses located in cosmopolitan cities Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, is offering 10 B.Tech course, two Dual Degree programs (B.Tech + M.Tech) in ECE and Mechanical at all the three campuses. While the B.Tech in Bio-Technology, B.Pharmacy and M.Pharmacy, along with 17 M.Tech are being offered in Visakhapatnam campus alone, Hyderabad campus provides BTech in Aerospace, B.Pharmacy and five M.Tech programs as well.

Direct Admission to Board Toppers
First Rank holders of the central and all state board examinations – 2018 equivalent to 10+2 will be given admission to the program of their choice, without appearing for GAT subject to their fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria. At Bengaluru campus, 25 per cent of seats are reserved for meritorious students from Karnataka.

Scholarships & Stipends
The university provides 100 per cent fee waiver for top 10 ranks and 50 per cent fee waiver for 11 to 100 ranks in GAT-2018. For all the students of B.Tech Aerospace Engineering students, there is 25 per cent fee waiver. Merit-cum-Means scholarships will be awarded to 5 per cent students in each branch of engineering. Teaching assistantships to M.Tech students. Scholarships to all B.Phramacy and M.Pharmacy students.

Admission Procedure
Interested candidates can apply online at www.gitam.edu through Debit Card/ Credit Card (Master/Visa). Applications can be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address accompanied by DD for Rs 150/- drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Applications are also available throughout India in selected branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank.
The filled-in application along with Demand Draft for Rs 1,000 (Rs 600 for female candidates) drawn in favour of GITAM University should reach Director- Admissions, GITAM University, Gandhi Nagar campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam – 530045, Andhra Pradesh, India on or before March 26th, 2018.
