PM Modi condoles death of Vijayawada boat accident victims
The death toll in the Vijayawada boat accident has risen to 17 with several others still missing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended his condolences to the bereaved families.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister's Office said,
Capsizing of a boat in the Krishna River is anguishing. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy. Andhra Pradesh Government and @NDRFHQ have been working on rescue operations: PM @narendramodi

At least 17 tourists, including nine women and two children, were killed as boat capsized in the Krishna river on Sunday. 15 people were rescued by local fishermen.
There were reportedly 41 tourists on the boat which was operated by a private tourism company and was returning from Bhavani Island to Pavitra Sangam. The boat overturned at Ibrahimpatnam Ferry Ghat.
