Tirupati: Former MP Chinta Mohan came down heavily on BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav for his comments on Congress party that it was hampering development works in the country.

Speaking to the media in Tirupati on Monday, he found fault with the Ram Madhav’s comments at the public meeting organised by the OBC wing of BJP and said that his comments were baseless.

In fact, it was the UPA government at the Centre and TDP government in Andhra Pradesh, which were responsible for keeping important development projects that would help the State, in the cold storage.

He listed out such projects, which include Mannavaram BHEL project, Dugarajaptnam port, shifting of Rs.100 crore-cancer hospital to Guntur among others. He accused the present government of showing negligence towards the welfare of the people.

On the contrary, the Congress party was more concerned about the welfare of people, which was evident from the fact that it started all the development projects in the country since Independence. He further said that it was Congress party, which made constitutional amendment to introduce reservations for OBCs.

It has also appointed various caste related commissions. Continuing his tirade on the BJP government, he opined that GST and demonetisation were the two factors responsible for hitting the economy hard as well as the common man.

Without fulfilling their poll promises like creating employment opportunities, bringing down the prices of essential commodities etc., the ruling party was pointing towards the main opposition party, he pointed out.

The people of the State were totally dissatisfied with both TDP and YSRCP and looking for an alternative party. The Congress party would again emerge as a potential alternative and will assume power in 2019 on its own strength without having any alliances. At the Centre, however, a Congress led coalition government will take charge, he predicted.
