National Green Tribunal rejected the petition against Andhra Pradesh's Polavaram Project as it is pending in Supreme Court.
The petition filed by the Odisha government against the the construction of Polavaram Project is pending in the Supreme Court. Keeping this in view, the National Green Tribunal rejected the petition against the construction of Polavaram Project even though it extended support to AP government's arguments in this regard.
The advocate representing AP Government argued over Odisha government's objections raised over forest clearance, site clearance, Environment clearance, and Tribal clearance adding that there was no need to hold discussions regarding them in NGT as the case is pending in the Supreme Court and NGT too agreed on this.
