Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana called upon the older students, who have attained the highest positions, to come forward and join hands in ‘Randi… Badi Runam Thirchukundam’ to develop the schools from which they had pursued their education.

Speaking to the media about the programme here on Tuesday, he urged the former students to contribute funds liberally to strengthen the government schools and to create facilities. He told the students to propagate the message through post-cards.

He said that he himself wrote a post card to T Janardhan Naidu, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who was holding a good position in the government, to contribute funds as he had pursued education from Devanakonda Zilla Parishad High School.

This post card program was started by an older student TS Appa Rao of Srikakulam district, who has pursued education from the government school, Satyanarayana said.

Taking them as an inspiration, the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan state-level Project Director has passed orders for its implementation in the entire State. The Collector appealed to the former students to send their contributions so that infrastructure facilities could be improved in schools.

SSA Project Officer Ramachandra Reddy and Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations Officer Sukumar were present on the occasion.
