Penukonda: Children of a private school took out a rally through the thoroughfares of Gorantla in the attire of national leaders in connection with Children’s Day on Tuesday. Tollywood hero Bhanuchandar was the main attraction at the rally.

The film star greeted parents and people of the town in his characteristic style. Youth competed with one another to shake hands with the popular hero. Earlier, participating as the chief guest in the Children’s Day celebrations at a private school here, he asked the children to focus on academics as well as extra-curricular activities and advised them to show reverence to teachers and parents.

Later, addressing the media, he appealed to teachers and parents to pay equal attention to martial arts like karate and kung fu apart from academics as it would make children’s brain very active so that, they can focus better on academics. The state government should take special initiative to impart training in such martial arts.
