1 killed, 30 hurt as tractor overturns
A farm labourer was killed when a tractor loaded with labourers overturned at Ramachandrapuram Kothuru road here in the early hours of Wednesday. According to the sources, a tractor with migrant farm labourers on its trolley overturned in an irrigation canal when the tractor driver dozed off. Kakinada: A farm labourer was killed when a tractor loaded with labourers overturned at Ramachandrapuram Kothuru road here in the early hours of Wednesday. According to the sources, a tractor with migrant farm labourers on its trolley overturned in an irrigation canal when the tractor driver dozed off. Thirty labourers were on board when this incident took place. The deceased labourer was identified as Rajababu of Jagannadhapuram village, Madugula Mandal of Visakhapatnam district.
Another 30 labourers were severely injured in this incident and were taken to Ramachandrapuram area hospital and the treatment is on- going. Ramachandrapuram RDO Rajasekhar visited the hospital and ordered the medical staff to render the necessary medical aid to the injured.
All the injured were from Anakapalli of Visakha district and were coming to East Godavari District for agriculture labour work.The Ramachandrapuram Police registered a case and took the tractor driver into custody.
