Visakhapatnam: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu formerly launched campaign for the forthcoming 39th All India Public Relations Conference to be held from December 15 to 17 in the city on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the Vice President expressed his happiness for the first ever national conference of Public Relations being organised in Visakhapatnam and conveyed his best wishes for a meaningful event being organised with a focus on smart cities.

Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, MP Visakhapatnam K Haribabu, Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) National President Ajit Pathak, National Vice President (South) US Sharma, Chairman of Visakhapatnam Chapter and Conference chair Prof DVR Murthy, secretary PLK Murthy, treasurer A Govind Rao, National Committee member BV Vijay Prasad, BR Vikram Kumar and Field Publicity Officer M Srinivas Mahesh were present.

About 300 delegates representing corporate sector, academia, industry and government will participate in the conference. The three-day conference will discuss the issues related to theme 'Emerging India: Smart City, Smart Communication." Experts from various walks of life will deliver lectures on the theme.

The conference seeks to explore the significance of communication in the fast developing smart cities in India in the age of digital communication. Though traditional media like newspapers, radio and television cannot be set aside, the digital media impacts the society and facilitates instant communication.
