AP creating ecosystem for Electric Vehicles
The Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyota Kirloskar on Thursday in Amaravati to introduce electric vehicles in the state.
The Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyota Kirloskar on Thursday in Amaravati to introduce electric vehicles in the state.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Akito Tachibana and Information Technology (IT) Minister Nara Lokesh.
The project will be launched in Tirupati and Toyota will supply two models of its electric cars for free for experimentation.
Speaking in this regard, Nara Lokesh said that these vehicles that will be delivered between May and December 2018 in AP to experiment.
He said that the government is working on creating an ecosystem for Electric Vehicles (EV) in the state and also create a comprehensive Electric Vehicles Policy for which discussions are on with EV manufacturers, battery manufacturers, cab aggregators and other stakeholders.
