Cyclone heading towards Visakhapatnam, heavy rains to follow

The weather department has issued a warning regarding the cyclone heading towards Visakhapatnam.

According to the officials, the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal has strengthened into a cyclone and is currently centered at 80 km from Visakhapatnam and 210 km from Gopalpatnam in Odisha.

With high-speed winds already forming in the coast, at 50 to 60 km an hour, heavy rains are likely to hit Visakhapatnam and other coastal districts.

Rayalaseema and Telangana regions too are expected to receive moderate rains. The officials at Visakhapatnam are taking precautions to prevent extensive damage due to the cyclone.
