Ongole: As per the call given by the MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga, the Prakasam district unit of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti laid siege the district collectorate on Wednesday demanding Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to honour his promise on categorisation of SCs.

The MRPS cadre picketed the collectorate amid tight security raising slogans against the government and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. MRPS in-charge of Prakasam district Unnam Dharmarao Madiga said, “While the Chandrababu Naidu want to do Vastunna Meekosam tour in Telangana, he pleaded support of Manda Krishna Madiga and promised the categorisation of SCs.

At that time, he called himself as Pedda Madiga to get madigas protection in Telangana, where Jaganmohan Reddy feared to enter and face the ire of Telangana activists. The people like Jupudi Prabhakar Rao in YSRCP and Karem Sivaji of Mala front flayed the Chandrababu for promising categorisation but they become friends after winning the elections and using the power against us.

Chandrababu Naidu should keep his word and initiate steps to categorise the SCs immediately in the ongoing assembly session. If not, we the MRPS activists are ready to fight for the demand.”

State MRPS student wing working president Jaladanki Narsingarao said, “The government and the Chief Minister should keep his word and approve decades long demand of Madigas. He should take a stakeholders delegation to Delhi and see the categorisation is done. If he does not come forward for this now, he should pay definitely for it in future.”

As the police are busy in controlling the MRPS workers speaking to media, seven activists led by Kommu Sujan Madiga, Ongole town president of MRPS, reached to top of Prakasam collectorate and raised slogans. However, the police took them into custody and shifted them to Taluk police
station.
