Three thought-provoking playlets were staged on the concluding day of the Children Drama Competitions organised by Nagarjuna kala Parishad, Kondapalli at Siddhartha auditorium here on Tuesday.

Vijayawada: Three thought-provoking playlets were staged on the concluding day of the Children Drama Competitions organised by Nagarjuna kala Parishad, Kondapalli at Siddhartha auditorium here on Tuesday.

On the second day, the first playlet ‘Apurupam’ was staged by Kalaradhana and Gururaju Concept School, Nandyal. The script was by Akella Sivaprasad and it was directed by Dr G Ravikrishna. The kids exhibited their talent to their best. A good message was given to the society that every man should love another person to achieve a good society. This was adjudged best production by the jury.

The second playlet ‘Grandhalayam’ was presented by Daksha Theatres, Vijayawada. The last playlet ‘Bharosa’ was performed by Government Girls High School, Bandlamitta. The play was penned by G Kamalakar and directed by P Padmavathi. Though this was also sketched on the high expectations of parents, the writer moulded with a novel idea which attracted the audience.

The performance of the children who participated in the playlet was impressive. This playlet bagged the second best production, and the third best production was captured by Devunni Mingina Manishi, staged by Young theater organisation, Vijayawada. About 25 school children participated in folk group dances and mono action competitions.

Ambika Krishna, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation was the chief guest for the valedictory meeting.He said the state Government was keen to promote children theater in Andhra Pradesh. On this occasion, Rampilla Mohana Krishna was honored. Devineni Kishore Kumar, Devineni Joni Kumari, Satyanandam, MV Raghu and others were present on the dais.
