Narrow escape for sand workers

Nearly 20 workers had a narrow escape when a boat in which they were travelling capsized at Penumaka village limits in Guntur district. According to reports, the boat overturned when the workers were returning from the middle of river, along with several bags of sand, after taking part in sand digging works.

According to reports, the boat overturned when the workers were returning from the middle of river, along with several bags of sand, after taking part in sand digging works.
But the workers jumped from the country made boat and saved their lives as majority of them were seasoned swimmers. The sand carrying boat overturned as it was overcrowded, said Bandlmudi Nagesh, a native of Penumaka village.
