Training on Geographic Information System mapping for corporation staff organised
Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping would help in providing quality and better services to the denizens in all sectors, said GIS Special Officer K Venkateswarlu.
Nellore: Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping would help in providing quality and better services to the denizens in all sectors, said GIS Special Officer K Venkateswarlu.
One-day training programme was conducted to the civic authorities about the mapping system on the premises of Municipal Corporation office here on Thursday. Venkateswarlu explained about the mapping system to the civic staff.
Speaking to the media, Venkateswarlu said that they would collect entire information of government organisations, industries, buildings, households, roads, water supply, sanitation and other details as part of mapping.
He also informed that they would involve engineering students to collect data in the city. Survey work would be handed over to a company through tender process, he added. He also appealed to the corporation authorities to be aware of the GIS mapping. Corporation SE Ravi Krishnaraju and other officials were also present.
