The students from Tribal Welfare Residential School in Peda Dornala in Prakasam district exhibited overall performance in the Regional Tribal Sports Meet, held for Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor districts in the last week in Nellore district.

Singarayakonda: The students from Tribal Welfare Residential School in Peda Dornala in Prakasam district exhibited overall performance in the Regional Tribal Sports Meet, held for Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor districts in the last week in Nellore district.

The principal of Ekalavya Model Residential School, Chittibabu appreciated the players, for their performance which won the ‘Overall Championship’ shield to the school in school and college categories, and congratulated Sirishabai for receiving overall championship in the individual category.

In the school category, the school topped the list in volleyball, kabaddi, shuttle badminton with first places, chess with first and second positions and Kho Kho in second position. In the college category, the school achieved first place in Kabaddi, shuttle badminton, second place in kho kho and volleyball to win the overall championship. In the individual category, Sirishabai achieved overall championship for achieving third place in 100 meters run, second place in 200 meters run, first place in 400 meters relay run in the school category. In the college category, she won the 100 meters run, 200 meters run, 400 meters relay and discuss throw in first place and achieved second place in shot put and long jump.

The school principal Chittibabu appreciated the overall champion Sirishabai along with other players Sunitabai, Bhavani, Vijaya, Jajimalli, Lavanya, Seethabai and Amalabai for winning the medals in running, Veeramma, Nagalakshmi, Nageswaribai and Anusha in Shot put, Veeramma, Nageswaribai, Nandinibai and Pavanibai in Javelin Throw, Marthabai in Chess, Nageswaribai in Discuss throw and Seethabai in long jump. He also appreciated the teachers and coaches for training the girls who took the school all the way to the overall championship in the regional tribal sports meet.
