Kadapa: The faction feud in villages came to the fore as TDP leader Bhaskar Reddy was shot by YSRCP leader A Srinivasulu Reddy at Veerlapalli village in Veerapunayunipalle mandal on Thursday. On June 17, YSRCP leader B Nagabhushan Reddy was killed by his rivals allegedly belong to the TDP at Kuttalapalle village of Vempalle mandal.

In January 2017, YSRCP Vempalle mandal president Gajjala Rami Reddy was murdered at Alavalapadu village over a land grabbing issue. Villages once were peaceful now witnessing faction killings. After MLC elections, every village in the district were divided into two groups irrespective of party affiliation. About one-and-a-half decade ago, people in villages used to have good rapport.

The atmosphere in villages has totally changed with 2019 elections approaching fast. If the faction rivalry continues for some more time, we have no option but to migrate to some other place, said J Venkataramana Reddy of Veerlapalle village.

Meanwhile, police administration has deployed special teams for nabbing the accused involved in the firing incident. A police official on the condition of anonymity said that they have already got the clues over whereabouts of accused and they may be arrested very soon.
