Assembly could not grant Special Status: Somireddy

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy on Monday said that the AP Legislative Assembly could not grant Special Category Status (SCS).

Responding to the Chalo Assembly call given by the Opposition parties demanding special category status to Andhra Pradesh, Somireddy criticized the Opposition parties for giving the call.

Speaking to the media in the in the Assembly Lobby in Amaravati, the AP Minister asked that as to why the Opposition leaders demanding Assembly to grant the Special status. Recalling YS Jagan's statement that his party MPs will quit posts if AP is not granted special status, Somireddy said that the TDP would not object and they can quit the posts.
