Opposition parties gear up for Chalo Assembly rally for special status demand

Opposition parties led by YSR Congress Party gave a call for peaceful Chalo Assembly rally as a protest for the demand of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

Additional forces have been deployed by the police to avoid untoward incidents as the Assembly winter session is underway.

The rally was planned from Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to the Assembly.

Vijayawada Police Commissioner D Gautam Sawang asserted that the police department won’t interfere if the rally is conducted in a peaceful manner.

However, he warned of severe action if the political party activists try to create any trouble.

The police even took few party leaders into custody as a precautionary measure.
