Banaganapalle (Kurnool): YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy came down heavily against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu saying that he came to power with his mesmerising lies in 2014 elections and termed him “a habitual liar”.

Addressing a gathering at Banaganapalle in the district on the 12th day of his Prasa Sankalpa Yatra, Jagan said Naidu had made several promises to develop the district on all fronts but none of them was fulfilled in the last four years of his rule.

He asked the people whether they had observed any development that had taken place during the four years rule of TDP. “Despite failing to fulfil the promises he has already made, Naidu is now claiming that he will make the state No 1 in the country by 2029 and world by 2059.

Are these statements believable?” he said and asked the villagers would they vote for their sarpanch next time if he promised that he would lay the road by 2029 and build something by 2059. “We definitely say him a mentally-retarded person. The statements of Naidu are also like that,” he said..

Jaganmohan Reddy said the Chief Minister would claim in coastal districts that he had developed Rayalaseema on all fronts and would tell Rayalaseema people that he had developed coastal areas in a big way. “That is the nature of Naidu, telling lies everywhere,” he said.

The YSRCP also said that the TDP chief had promised add BCs to ST list, SC status to rajaka (washerman) community and BC status to Kapus but had not promised any of these promises. Accusing Naidu of betraying the poor, Jaganmohan Reddy said during YS Rajasekhar Reddy rule the poor use to get rice, palm oil, kerosene, pulses, sugar and tamarind from ration shops but now only rice is being given.

Fee reimbursement was also stopped and the poor and middle classes were being priced out of education system dur to ever rising fees, he said. He said that he had taken up the yatra to know the plight of the people and wanted to expose the fraud of Naidu.

I wants to see every student become a doctor, engineer and attain the highest position in life, he said and assured of financial assistance of Rs 20,000 to every student and Rs 2,000 pension to old age, widow and physically and mentally challenged persons.

Banaganapalle constituency in-charge Katasani Rami Reddy, Dhone MLA Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, YSRCP leader and former MLC Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, Panyam MLA Gowru Charitha Reddy and other were also present.
