Kakinada: Additional Superintendent of Police A R Damodar said that each and every one should work hard in building a society where the children can lead a free life.

He participated as chief guest at the district-level International Child Rights Day programme jointly organised by the World Vision India and Women and Child Welfare departments on the eve of Children Rights Day. He also inaugurated “End violence against children” programme at the Ambedkar Bhavan here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, World Vision India manager Arul Prakash said they had started this campaign to stop attacks and sexual abuse of children at the international level.

He informed that their organisation would work in coordination with the government and non-government agencies in this regard in future. Later the speakers unveiled a poster on children’s rights and urged the public to be aware on children’s rights.

Women and Child Welfare department Project Director T Sarada Devi presided over the meeting. SSA PO Sesha Giri, Vijaya Durga, Raju Kumar and nearly1,000 students from different schools participated.
