Speaking on `sustainable growth’ in AP Assembly on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the State government had been giving priority for happiness of people and every family should be happy. He wanted the members that they should be aware of sustainable growth and should continuously monitor the growth rate in their respective constituencies to achieve sustainable growth.

He said, `AP tops in providing 100 per cent power supply to houses and in distributing 100 per cent gas connections. By March 2018, AP would be declared as ODF.’ Naidu said AP was ahead with 11.71 % growth rate in the first quarter of 2017-18 against 5.6 per cent at All India level.

He said despite of State bifurcation odds, the State achieved 10.95 % growth rate during 2015-16 and 11.61 per cent growth rate during 2016-17. AP should be one among the top three states by 2019 and in top place by 2022.

The Chief Minister said sustainable development should not be confined to one place or region and it should be spread to remote areas including Agency regions.

The Chief Minister said officials from AP gave a presentation in UN meetings recently on behalf of India over sustainable growth and won the appreciation from all sections. He stressed the need for monitoring of sustainable growth at constituency and mandal levels to achieve development of all regions.

Earlier, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said State government had stated the 17 sustainable goals of United Nations in the AP vision document and determined 2015-16 as base year to the all indicators.

He said State was giving priority to increase per capita income of people in rural areas. “We are encouraging agro process industries and give priority to agriculture. Due to the measures taken the by the government, the percentage of agriculture labour come down to 50% from 70%,” he said.
