Visakhapatnam: Atheists Society of India (ASI) welcomed the much-hyped Anti-Superstition Bill passed in the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka to prevent and eradicate ‘inhuman evil practices’.

It may be noted that the Karnataka Cabinet cleared the much debated Karnataka Prevention and Eradication of Inhuman Evil Practices and Black Magic Bill, 2017, popularly known as the Anti Superstition Bill, on Wednesday.

ASI demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government, too, has to come up with the similar law to curb the superstitions and witchcraft, or any act in the name of religion that causes harm to humans.

The Atheist Group-based in Visakhapatnam pointed out that Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Kerala and Assam has been mulling over to bring out anti-superstition law in their states.
