New Delhi: If all goes well, dream of setting up steel industries in the Telugu states would soon become a reality. TDP senior leader and Union Minister Sujana Chowdary along with AP Minister Venkata Sujay Krishna Rangarao and Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao on Thursday met Union Minister of Steel Birender Singh in the national capital. The leaders from the two states closeted with Birender Singh and spoke at length on setting up of steel industries in Kadapa in AP and in Bayyaram in Telangana.
The Ministers urged Birender Singh to keep the promises that were assured in AP Reorganisation Act during the time of state's bifurcation. The Union Minister said that the Centre is committed to fulfill the promises made to the Telugu states.
Taskforce committee, which was constituted by the Centre, would submit a report on the same within a month, he said. The action plan is to be discussed keeping short-term and long-term goals in view. The taskforce committee will also have time to study various aspects like quality of the steel and its standards, the Union Minister said.
