Under the scheme Housing for All, the State government is constructing houses to every person who does not have a house in Kurnool town limits, said Minister for Municipal Adminsitration P Narayana. He inspected the status of houses being constructed at Bandameeda Thandrapadu gram panchayat on Friday.

Later he addressed a meeting organised with the beneficiaries and said that the State government has taken the construction of houses in a prestigious manner. Around 9 lakh people have applied for houses through online in 110 municipalities across the State.
In the first phase, around 5.3 lakh people would get the houses. The Chief Minister has ordered construction of quality houses which should last for 100 years. As directed by the Chief Minister, the houses are being constructed by using Shear Wall Technology that will withstand even earthquakes.
Around 10,000 houses have been sanctioned to the beneficiaries in Kurnool town and upon the request of the people’s representatives another 15,000 houses would be sanctioned. The Minister directed Municipal Commissioner C B Harinath Reddy to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on receiving the online applications.
The houses being constructed under Shear Wall Technology would be handed over to the beneficiary within 15 months. Out of 250 blocks, house construction works are in progress at 64 blocks. The beneficiaries are expected to enter into their homes by January 2018, the Minister said.
Narayana said that the houses being constructed for poor would give a rich ambience. The houses would consist of flooring with vitrified tiles, shelves, glass windows and granite slab platform in kitchen besides other facilities. Even the colonies would be provided with beautiful roads, good drainage system, central lightning system, hospital, community halls, schools, parks, playground and other facilities.
The motto of the Chief Minister is to ensure a quality house to every poor family, he added. Kurnool MLA S V Mohan Reddy hailed the housing scheme announced by the government for the poor.
Rajya Sabha member T G Venkatesh said that the beneficiaries are very fortunate as their houses are being constructed using the latest technology. All facilities are being provided at the localities.
He said many industries are also likely to come up and generate employment opportunities for the youth. Kodmuru MLA Mani Gandhi, Kurnool Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairman Somi Shetty Venkateshwarulu, Joint Collector Prasanna Venkatesh, Revenue Division Officer (RDO) Hussain Saheb, Municipal Commssioner Harinath Reddy and others accompanied the Minister.
