APGB received a national award from the Union Ministry of Rural Development for the best performance in SHG Bank Linkage in 2016-17.

Tirupati: APGB received a national award from the Union Ministry of Rural Development for the best performance in SHG Bank Linkage in 2016-17. Dr Nagesh Singh, Additional Secretary, Rural Development, and Atul Dulloo, Joint Secretary, presented the award to APGB Chairman A Venkata Reddy at a review meeting held with RRB Chairmen in New Delhi on Thursday.

Mohan Reddy, GM, Syndicate Bank, and Suchindra Mishra, Additional Secretary, DFS also attended the programme. Venkata Reddy told the function that APGB extended financial support in the form of credit disbursement of Rs 2,233 crore to 94,156 self-help groups in Anantapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore and Prakasam districts for livelihood.

The Bank has been receiving good support from SERP and the district administrations in recovery of loans, according to a press release issued by M Ananda, GM, APGB.
