Booty worth 6.96 lakh recovered; 3 arrested
Naidupet police arrested three accused in Chennai on Thursday and recovered booty worth Rs 6.96 lakh from them. The booty includes 32 sovereigns of gold, a two-wheeler and silver material.
Nellore: Naidupet police arrested three accused in Chennai on Thursday and recovered booty worth Rs 6.96 lakh from them. The booty includes 32 sovereigns of gold, a two-wheeler and silver material.
According to Gudur DSP VS Rambabu, the accused were identified as K Sai Kumar from Narayanapet in Mahabubnagar district, Sk Abu Basher and Ratan Maity from Medinipur district in West Bengal.
Sai Kumar was working as chef in a hotel in Narayanapet and subsequently addicted to crimes. For meeting his lavish expenditure, he committed crime and cases were booked against him at Narayanapet, Secunderabad, Gopalapur and other police stations.
In 2010, he came to Nellore and joined SMK caterers located in NTR Nagar. He worked there for one year and went to Chennai where he joined Sindhu Catering Services and worked for more than 18 months. Later, Sai went to Guntur and worked in a hotel and also committed offences there.
He spent some time in Bapatla jail and released in April 2017 and again started staying in Guntur. While he was traveling from Guntur to Chennai he stole two mobiles. He met one Uttam Vishwas at Chennai Central and sold the two phones to him for Rs 2,000.
He used to spend time in Chennai committing small offences for his livelihood. Finally, he met the other two accused Ratan and Abu through some people from West Bengal and joined as chef in hotel in Mount Road.
He had shared properties with them that were stolen in Naidupet, Bapatla, Renigunta, Nellore and Sullurpet police station limits. The police arrested the accused in Chennai in the wee hours of Thursday.
