He expressed displeasure over the current educational system and suggested that games and sports should become an integral part of the syllabus and playing and reading should go hand in hand.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured the committee members of Gowda Jana Seva Samithi help from the government. He further stated that the government is committed to the welfare of backward classes in the state. The hostel will be providing free coaching for the aspirants of Civil Services and gradually other classes will be commenced, he added.

Dr EV Narayana, founder and chairman, said that their association has acquired 3,456 square yards site near Pedakakani and in that hostel free accommodation and training classes like personality development, skills development, basic English courses would be conducted.

Palasa MLA Gouthu Sivaji announced that he will contribute in the memory of his late father and freedom fighter Gouthu Latchanna . Dr T Seva Kumar, state secretary and trustee of the samithi, said students from Gowda, Eediga and Settibalija cutting across the regional barriers will be given lodging and boarding here for free.
