Nellore: District In-Charge Collector A Md Imtiaz said SC, ST State Commission is visiting the district in the first week of December and asked the officials to prepare reports with latest information of usage of funds under SC, ST Sub Plan.
He reviewed schemes implemented for SCs and STs with officials at Golden Jubilee Hall here on Friday and asked the officials to handover the reports along with list of beneficiaries at gram panchayat, mandal and constituency levels by December 1.
He said there are 32.14 per cent of SCs, STs in the district, according to 2011 statistics and the sub plan funds can be utilised from 789 head of account. 100 per cent funds would be released in case of SC/ST population exceeds 40 per cent of population in the habitation. He said 42 departments are implementing the funds for over 150 schemes.
Joint Collector-II V Venkata Subba Reddy said 16.23 per cent of funds for SCs, 6 per cent of funds for STs to be utilised under general budget and this has to be incurred besides SC, ST sub plan funds. SC and ST habitations have to be given priority while sanctioning internal roads, CC Roads being taken up by Panchayat Raj and R&B departments.
He reviewed the utilisation of funds in Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Medical and Health, and Civil Supplies departments and also in RWS, SETNEL, DWMA, and other departments. Deputy Director of Social Welfare Madhusudan Rao, ITDA Project Officer Kamala Kumari, DM&HO Dr Vara Sundaram, RWS SE RV Krishna Reddy and others were present.
