GITAM Dental College and Hospital research team consisting of faculty and students received prestigious Indian Orthodontic Society (IOC) national awards for their outstanding research work in orthodontics.
Visakhapatnam: GITAM Dental College and Hospital research team consisting of faculty and students received prestigious Indian Orthodontic Society (IOC) national awards for their outstanding research work in orthodontics. Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics is a specialty field of dentistry particularly the specialty deals primarily with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of mispositioned teeth and the jaws.
GITAM Dental College and Hospital orthodontics research team comprising four experts received the awards during the 52nd Indian Orthodontic Conference which was recently held in Jaipur. GITAM Dental Doctors Preetham R (Dr JG Kannapan’s Award), Ekavenika (IOS student research award), Naaz Parveen Shaik (IOS student research award) and Dr Yagnesh Mantha (IOS Life Member Research Award and Dr HD Merchant Award for Preventive Orthodontics) were involved in orthodontics research programme.
GITAM Dental College and Hospital Principal Dr K Gangadhara Prasad appreciated the research team for their achievement. He mentioned that this is a rare honour to a dental college in the country.
