Amaravati: Minister for Health and Medical Education Kamineni Srinivas said he would go to New Delhi on November 29 to discuss the issue of Fatima Medical College students with the Union Health Ministry.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday, the Minister said Medical Council of India rejected the proposal of the State government on providing seats to Fathima College students in government medical colleges. Supreme Court also disallowed the request of government in this regard, he said.

He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also spoke to Union Health Minister J P Nadda requesting him to help resolve the issue and do justice to the students. “It was fault of Fathima College. We held discussions with Fathima College management following the request of students.

The State government had no connection with the college management,” he said. He said the State government was trying to find a solution to the issue with the help of Union government and he would visit New Delhi as part of this mission.
