Kurnool: YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy once again spit fire on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for cheating the backward classes people after promising them reservations.

Jagan who is continuing his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Kurnool district, addressed a public meeting at Gorantla village in Kodmur mandal of Pathikonda constituency on Sunday.

He further alleged that Naidu has cheated every caste after securing their votes. He said Naidu promised ST status to Valmiki community, SC status to Rajakas and BC status to Kapus.

He said it is not in the hands of the State government to provide ST status to Valmikis. The Centre has to give its nod and for that the State government has to exert pressure on the Union government. Despite knowing the fact, Naidu made false promises and cheated the people, Jagan fumed.

He pointed out that Naidu after completing four years of his term, is still saying that he will try to include Kapus in BCs and Rajakas in SCs. He said it is not possible to fulfill his promises now as there is only one year left before the next polls.

Any further promises by the Chief Minister would only amount to cheating people, the Opposition leader said. Comparing the electricity charges and the commodities available at ration shops prior to 2014, Jagan said the TDP government has drastically increased the power tariff and stopped giving palm oil, pulses, sugar, and kerosene at fair price shops.

The TDP government also withdrew scholarships and fee reimbursement facility provided to students. He said that several students have complained about the abnormal increase in college fees and lack of scholarships and fee reimbursement facility. Jagan said that once his government comes to rule then he will grant a stipend of Rs 20,000 to every college student towards boarding expenses.

Pension amount for SC, ST, BC and minorities will be increased to Rs 2,000 per month and will be granted right from 45 years of age, he added. To ensure education for all, the YSRCP has planned Amma Odi scheme which will grant 15,000 rupees annually to every mother who sends children to school. YSRCP will bring back the golden era of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, he assured.

Jagan announced that he will distribute livestock to members of shepherd community and will also insure each animal by allotting an identification code. Like 108 and 104 services, a separate 102 service will be introduced to attend to livestock health and medical needs The YSRCP chief also flayed the Chief Minister for not spending the funds earmarked under the BC Sub-Plan for their welfare.

While the government announced Rs 10,000 crore under the sub-plan, during the last four years only 22 per cent of the allocated sum was spent, he pointed out.

He said his party will strive to grant an ST category for Boya community. The party will also nominate one Boya leader from either Kurnool or Anantapur district to the Parliament. On this occasion, the villagers of Gorantla and Yerragudi asked Jagan to construct a bridge on Handri river that flows between the villages.
