Naidu told him that he was keen on driving drought out of Anantapur by ensuring release of water from Srisailam reservoir. The Department of RTG (Real Time Governance) formed on September 6 with Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) as its functional arm will work directly under the supervision of the Chief Minister.

"The purpose of the RTG centre is to ensure real-time governance of all events and natural calamities," Naidu said, pointing out that he was more interested in monitoring the implementation of 15 welfare schemes to enhance happiness index in the state.

"The technology helps me in interacting with people anywhere in the state from Velagapudi and understand what their needs and requirements are," the Chief Minister said, adding that if any communicable disease breaks out, it becomes easy to review the situation at ground level using drones," he said.

The main centre at the secretariat is connected to centres in all the 13 districts in the state. Linked to the system is data of all households in the state and the benefits they are entitled to under welfare programmes. There will also be a call centre for addressing grievances of the beneficiaries.

The state centre will get data from other sources like surveillance system, drones, biometric augmented technology, machine learning technology and the Andhra Pradesh Weather Forecasting and Early Warning Research Centre. It will have support from the AP State Fibernet Limited (APSFL), AP Towers, AP Content Corporation, AP Virtual Classes Corporation and Drones Corporation of AP.

The centre has a barco-wall (giant screen) which can show multiple screens simultaneously and dash boards with information on grievances reports, weather casts, visuals, cc camera footage and real-time progress of ongoing projects.
