Tirupati: The NCC Day celebrations made this Sunday a spectacular day with attractive cultural programmes by the cadets and awe inspiring equestrian show. The audience enjoyed with stunned silence as NCC cadets galloped along with their horses, clearing hurdles as part of the celebrations here. Every move elicited cheers from the crowd, creating an electrifying atmosphere.

TTD JEO P Bhaskar has said that the development of any country depends upon how the youth are shaped. India is second in the world in population. In the population of around 136 crores in the country, 30-35 per cent are youth. Therefore, it is important how to make use of the potential in the younger generation for the development of the society. He participated as a chief guest in the 69th NCC Day celebrations at NCC Nagar in Tirupati on Sunday.

He said that NCC was playing a crucial role in shaping the youth in proper way. It was amasing to know that there were 10,000 cadets in Tirupati Unit and a lot of applications were pending. More and more people are willing to join NCC, he observed. Since, Tirupati has developed as an educational hub, number of students are pursuing their education here. He asked the NCC Officers to increase the strength of number of cadets. Earlier, the JEO, along with Group Commandant Colonel Vithal, took the salute from NCC cadets.

Speaking on the occasion Col Vithal has said that, NCC cadets at the school and college level were being trained to participate in social events. With the ‘C’ certificates which they give to NCC cadets who participate in National security, cadets can get jobs in military without any tests, he said. NCC Day is being observed on the last Sunday of every November, he said.
