Don’t believe middlemen, Polavaram evacuees told

Eluru: West Godavari Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash appealed to displaced people of Polavaram irrigation project not to believe middlemen about R and R package.
The SP has conducted Mee Kosam grievance redressal programme at district police office here on Monday. He received representations from public on various issues and directed the concerned officials to solve those petitions received in Mee Kosam programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that some middlemen were cheating the evacuees over the compensation amount of R and R package. This has led to disputes among family members of displaced and those are approaching the police, he said.
He reiterated the R and R package amount could be credited to the account of beneficiaries directly and no intervention of the middlemen in this regard.
The displaced people do not pay single paisa to middlemen for R and R package, he added. He suggested the evacuees if any middlemen approached them, immediately inform the police about them.
