Ongole: The members of the Licensed Surveyors Association of Prakasam district staged a sit in protest in front of the Collectorate on Monday and demanded that the government provide minimum honorarium for the services of the licensed surveyors being used by the government at various places.

DV Bhaskar Reddy, president and Ch Phani Kumar, secretary of the association said that they were trained surveyors recognised by the government for the past 15 years and were working in the Tahsildar offices for surveying F Line petitions, sub divisions of revenue survey numbers, land acquisition and other works. They said that though they were working for years, a fixed salary was not being given to them and most of the surveyors were in poor economic state now. They demanded that the government order the Tahsildars to give F Line petitions as per the GOMS No 800 to the licensed surveyors, minimum honorarium for all of them including the job guarantee and priority in the health schemes.

They submitted a memorandum to the assistant director of the Survey and Land records in Prakasam district and asked for the intervention of the officer in addressing their grievances.
