Two die, 7 injured as van hits stationary truck
Blanket drill (sleeplessness) of a driver on the National Highway led to a major mishap in which two persons were dead on the spot and seven others received injuries. The incident occurred at Pannamgadu in Tada mandal at 3.30 am on Monday.

According to Sub Inspector D Venkateswara Rao, a team of Ayyappa devotees from Telaprolu in Ungutur mandal of Krishna District had visited Sabarimala and were returning. In return journey, they visited Rameswaram and were coming back to their native village. Pallampati Durga Prasad was driving the Tata Magic vehicle in which the devotees were travelling.
He had slept for a while on the way as they were travelling tediously. The vehicle hit a stationary truck at Pannamgadu. In the accident, Pallampati Ramanjaneyulu (31) and Reddy Rahul (8) died on the spot. Rahul who was sleeping on the floor behind driver seat received a major head injury and died.
