Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday hailed the efforts of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for coming forward by investing in the new capital region Amaravati.

The VIT campus, which is the first university to set foot in the capital following State's bifurcation, was inaugurated by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu along the AP Chief Minister.

Speaking on this occasion, Chandrababu Naidu praised the VIT varsity for providing world-class education with an investment of 10,000 crore. Of 630 students, 60 percent of them are from Andhra Pradesh state, he said.

Stating that the government is primarily focusing more on education sector, the Chief Minister said that the state government allocated another 200 acres to set up a new university at Inavolu.
