A major mishap was averted as there is no vehicle or public in the surroundings when a lorry that carrying was 450 LPG cylinders overturned at Vemulapadu near Kanigiri in Prakasam district on Tuesday.

The driver is said to be lost control of the speeding vehicle when he reached the ghat road and suddenly pulled the brakes.
According to Hanumanthunipadu sub-inspector of police U Haribabu, a Bharat Gas transport lorry was taking 450 cylinders after filling the gas from the filling station in Kurnool to the godown at Chandrasekharapuram on Tuesday afternoon.
Driver Battina Prasad, who is a regular driver in the route for Bharat Gas, is a bit behind the schedule and wanted to cover the time. So, he raised the accelerator but unable to control the speeding heavy load vehicle at once, he pressed the breaks while entering the ghat road at Vemulapadu and as a result the lorry overturned.
Police and the locals heaved a sigh of relief as a major mishap was averted. The driver escaped with minor injuries and there is no other vehicle nearby lorry when the accident took place.
