Srisailam: Local legislator Budda Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday accused a particular YSR Congress Party leader of conspiring to create communal tension in this constituency, while denying his involvement in damaging masjid near Ponnapuram in Nandyal. Reddy took a pledge on Quran and Allah to state he had no link with the person who resorted to thedamage.

At a press conference, the MLA alleged that the YSRCP leader had no courage to face him. “Hence, he is trying to hit me below the belt by siding with minorities and defame me in the constituency for political gain. This shows his degenerated political practices,” Reddy stated without naming the YSRCP leader.

The legislator denied that Budda Srikanth Reddy was a TDP leader and more so not his main follower. He released photo clippings to show that Srikanth Reddy was YSRCP leader, while accusing him of organising dharnas to instigate people.

Rajasekhara Reddy accused the YSRCP leader of trying to pose as a leader in Srisailam constituency and creating trouble in Atmakur, even while staying in Nandyal. ‘People and Muslims know who this leader is,’ he contended.

The MLA claimed that his efforts to develop the minorities by allotting more funds were not palatable to the YSRCP leaders. He described the Opposition party’s attempts as ‘trying to throw mud at me’, while hitting out at a Telugu daily for publishing wrong stories about him.
