Vijayawada: Andhra Pardesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that the state government is committed to regain the lost legacy of Telugu language.

Tadikonda MLA Sravan Kumar moved a resolution in the AP legislative assembly urging the government to take concrete steps to spread the importance of the Telugu language. The need of the hour is to save the language from peril, he said. Irrespective of Telugus living in various countries across the globe, the government should make efforts to uplift the language of its literature, he said. Discussion was taken up by the members in the assembly on the Telugu language.

Speaking on this occasion, Minister Akhila Priya urged all the departments in the Secretariat to give priority to Telugu language. Responding to her, MLA Gouthu Syam Sunder Sivaji found fault with Akhila Priya for using English words during her speech. He felt that all Ministers should implement and practice giving speech in Telugu in the Assembly sessions too.
