Eluru: AVR Mohan, Superintendent, Government Headquarters Hospital, Eluru, said that the allegations made by lady doctor Vijaya Nirmala against him were baseless and false.

He addressed the media at his chamber here on Tuesday. He said that Dr Vijaya Nirmala came to Eluru on transfer two years back and was attending duties from Vijayawada. Due to this, she was getting late to her duty and causing inconvenience to other duty doctors.

He held a meeting with hospital doctors at his chamber on November 21 and sought explanation from the lady doctor for coming late to her hospital duty regularly. However, she did not respond to his questions at the meeting. Later on November 22, she consumed the sleeping pills and wrote a letter against him.

“There is no truth in the allegations made by the lady doctor. She made baseless and false allegations against me. I don’t care about these false allegations,” the Superintendent stated.

Mohan said the lady doctor complained against him to the police on the day she attempted suicide. But the police did not register any case. However, when she lodged a second complaint four days later, the police filed a case.

He wondered why the police did not respond to the complaint in first instance and registered a case on receiving a second complaint. He said he had brought the issue to the notice of District Collector K Bhaskar and SP M Ravi Prakash. They assured justice to him, he said. He expressed gratitude to hospital doctors who extended support to him.
