Time slots will make darshan easy for pilgrims: JEO
The time-slot system will enable convenient darshan to pilgrims reducing the waiting hours in Tirumala, said Tirumala JEO KS Srinivasa Raju. During his whirlwind inspection to Slotwise Sarva Darshan (SSD) counters in Tirumala on Tuesday, the JEO instructed the engineering officials to complete the counter works on a fast pace in all the 14 locations during the first phase.

During his whirlwind inspection to Slotwise Sarva Darshan (SSD) counters in Tirumala on Tuesday, the JEO instructed the engineering officials to complete the counter works on a fast pace in all the 14 locations during the first phase.
Later, briefing the media persons at APSRTC bus stand where temporary SSD counter is coming up, the JEO said the time-slot darshan was first introduced in August 2014 for Rs 300 Special Entry Darshan (SED). This year on July 17, the slot-wise darshan for 20,000 Divya Darshan (pedestrian) pilgrims was introduced and it has also yielded good results, he added.
Under the instructions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who was particular about the best possible way of providing hassle free darshan to multitude of visiting pilgrims, the time slot has been enabled in TTD. On a trial basis for five to ten days, in the second week of December, the time slot for Sarva Darshan pilgrims will be experimented in 107 counters located in 14 areas in Tirumala during first phase.
After trial run, the pros and cons will be enlisted and the SSD will be launched in a full-fledged way in 150 counters in Tirumala before summer vacation as per the directives of TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, he informed. Earlier, the JEO inspected the progress of civil works in various locations near Varahaswamy Rest House, Sannidhanam, ANC KKC, Padmavathi area and RTC bus stand.
