Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu gave 16 Hyundai cars to Kapu unemployed youth, selected by the NTR Trust and AP State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation, at the Secretariat on Wednesday. Flagging off the cars at the Secretariat, Naidu announced that the government would encourage Kapu youth and extend full support to them in all aspects.

The Chief Minister said the NTR Trust and Kapu Corporation helped the 16-unemployed youth to become owners of cars and to stand on
their feet. The NTR Trust selected the unemployed youth from Kapu community and provided training in driving with the help of Kapu corporation.

The Kapu corporation provided a subsidy of Rs 50,000 on each car and bank loan of Rs 6 lakh with a beneficiary’s contribution of Rs one lakh. The Chief Minister asked the Kapu Corporation Managing Director B Udayalakshmi to draft more programmes to provide employment to youth.

Udayalakshmi said the Kapu Corporation had spent Rs 1.20 crore to benefit 16 unemployed youth. A beneficiary U Sudhakar of Kirlampudi village in East Godavari said that he used to get Rs 8,000 per month by working as a driver and now he is confident of getting monthly a revenue of Rs 30,000.

Another beneficiary Akula Prasad of Mandapet village, said that he is confident of getting Rs 20,000 income per month after repaying the bank loan amount and expressed happiness over becoming a car driver. Kapu Corporation Chairman Ch Ramanujaya was present.
