Eluru: District Collector K Bhaskar said that SSC public examinations would be conducted in a transparent manner in West Godavari district without giving any scope for copying.

Participating in a review meeting with the officials of the district education department at the Collectorate here on Thursday, he said that this time, Class X exams would be conducted under tight security giving no chance for mass copying in the exams.

He said that steps were being taken up to control the mass copying with thorough checks in the examination centres. He warned that if any centre or school allowed mass copying, the on-duty officials would be dealt with sternly.

He suggested to the teachers not to encourage mass copying as it damages the future of the students. He directed the officials to raise vegetable plants in schools and use those vegetable yielding in the mid-day meals.

For this, the horticulture department would supply 12 varieties of vegetable seed kits to the schools, the Collector added. He directed the officials to inspect the schools and check whether the kitchen sheds and kitchen gardens are being maintained properly or not.

DEO RS Gangabhavani, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan project officer P Brahmananda Reddy, Deputy DEO K Uday Kumar and others participated in the meeting.
